The Team At A Crossroads

*insert as many rimshots here as you deem necessary*

Well, here it finally is. With most of my friends' OCs drawn and Christmas nearing,
I decided to make a drawing of our OCs from Crossroads, the story :iconcrickity: is writing, the first chapter of which is here: [link]

I had a couple of reasons for doing this. I wanted to make a picture for all of my friends, I wanted to practice with perspective, backgrounds and shading, I wanted to make a "cover" of sorts for the story, and I also wanted to draw some of the group's OCs in their other outfits.
That and when this idea, which in itself is stupidly punny, hit me, I couldn't not draw it. The Beatles Abbey Road album cover but fantasy themed with OCs of myself and my friends... honestly, how could I resist?

So, for those who haven't been following my OC drawings, here's the cast of the drawing and story and their creators (in order of their appearance in it):

:iconcrickity: - Jester
:iconnunchuckenator: - Void
:iconlamoocow: - Ace
:iconevilfuzzle2: - Rachel
:iconaxelrox111: - Lixa
:iconchocoboracer: - Mitchie
:iconipancakes: - Susan & Ellie
:iconsaxdude26: - Pyros

I decided to give Ace, Rachel, Ellie and (as you'll see when I upload the other drawing of her) Mitchie one of their other outfits instead of the ones I gave them in their individual drawings.

Now, the drawing itself. I guess the main hub of sorts of Crossroads is Flinders Street Station, one of the major (and definitely prettiest) stations in Melbourne, and having been featured in the other drawing I did of the Jester, I felt it was the perfect background setting for the drawing.
Considering I wanted to challenge myself with this, I decided to shade it as well. And with the whole road crossing punny theme of the drawing, I got to do some perspective drawing with the road and street as well.
Ah, Google Maps, you proved so useful for the entire setting of this background. :D

I was planning to label the street signs with the names of the different worlds that our OCs came from (e.g. Equilibria, Traverse Town, Luximnar, Potato Place, etc.), but I decided to pass on that due to it not turning out all that well.

Lastly, considering Cricky is the main writer of Crossroads, giving the logo his signature checkered touch seemed fitting.
And while the shadows don't exactly match the individual characters, that was intentional. With the destinies of the nine heroes mixed together and intertwinded, I decided I might add that mix and twist to the shadows too (well, that and the shadows not overlayed in this fashion seemed way too thin.. and they kinda look cool like this).

Being my final drawing for 2012, albeit uploaded significantly later, this is definitely one of my favourite and best drawings I have done in a long time, and probably that I've ever uploaded on deviantArt. And what fun it was, a great achievement for roughly a week and a half of work.

Even made a Christmas version too: [link]
So yes, a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone. :)
